If you are in Portland and only have a few hours, call Wildwood Adventures (503-396-3929). They will pick you at your downtown hotel (or nearby) and drive you to the Columbia River Basin which is out of this world beautiful. The drive was less than hour (standard cargo van) and goes right to the Columbia River.
There are a number of stops, starting with an overlook of the basin then continues on to majestic Chantocleer Point, the stunning Latourell Falls and grand finale Multnomah Falls. If you are in Portland, and have about 4 hours, do not miss this waterfall tour. Each falls is less than a 15 minute walk from the parking lot and the views are just sensational. There are other tour companies but I picked Wildwood. Super friendly, easy on the wallet and views I will never forget. Next time, I am in Portland, I am going again!
