If you find yourself in Amarillo, Texas and want to see the second largest canyon in the United States, head 20 miles outside of town to Palo Duro Canyon. It’s gorgeous. Easy hikes with incredible views. I day-hiked in July which I do not recommend because it was “wow” hot. If I ever come back to Amarillo, I hope it’s Fall because I’m going back to Palo, the Grand Canyon of Texas. Bring lots of water and some bug spray. It really is a great hike, amazing views and mostly flat terrain. Enjoy!
Btw…if you go, make a slight detour and stop by the Cadillac Ranch. You won’t believe it unless you actually see it. I didn’t share pictures because ya just can’t believe what you’re looking at. See it for yourself!
